I'm beginning to hear about revolutionaries who are willing to step forward and serve the US in congress. We pretty much know that Ron Paul has a "snowball's chance" of getting the presidency, but there is enough energy in this revolution to begin to seat anti-neo-conservative-Republicans in public offices. This guy looks good to me. I believe the vote is June 5, so this is the home stretch for him. If you have any money to send to help support the revolution, I hope you will.

Media Matters: The Weekly Update
Mar. 22nd, 2008 06:05 pmThe Weekly Update from Media Matters for America is behind the cut. This org watches what is reported and what is not, and thinks critically about it. In this case the media is clamoring for Hillary's tax returns but not even noticing that McCain hasn't released his. It sounds like some are falsely reporting that McCain's tax returns have already been released. I find it interesting that the supposedly "liberal media" continues to dig dirt on non-Republican candidates but quietly shelters McCain. This media would be more aptly named the "corporate media". Its power and profitability will be at stake when their guys are out of the whitehouse. Ron Paul would have cut them a new one. Obama and Clinton are pawns in their game. It's painful to admit to what degree the media controls public opinion. Thank goodness for rebel blogs, shows like Democracy Now and orgs such as Media Matters. Independent media is out there!

State of the Union Address
Jan. 28th, 2008 06:10 pmI get this foul taste in my mouth whenever President Bush comes on the radio, and often turn it off. But for now I have him tuned in, listening to his speech. The pomp and ceremony, the applause and hurrahs, bother me because I believe this congress should be impreaching this man and our vice president as well. But instead they keep up the appearance of approval. It seems that we could sustain the honor of our government better by removing the devils, instead of continuing to pump them up. The world sees that they are full of hot air.

Below I have quoted the closing paragraphs of Osama Bin Laden's broadcast on Al Jazeera TV from Thursday, January 19. I had not read it until today, but I am glad I finally did read it. He spoke about torture and rape, and of the hopeless suicides of American soldiers caught between fighting an unjust war and the punishing devices of a vicious government. He spoke about Bush's lies and of the financial support that he gets from "war merchants". Bin Laden is insightful and direct. I honor his fight to the death against our president, his cronies and our war and profit machine. I hear more compassion in his promise to give us hell than I hear in Bush's constant promise that they are "making progress" at sacrificing our young men for the almighty oil dollar. I am sorry that I am a hypocrite and pay taxes to a government which has so horrifically wronged so many people. As tax day approaches this becomes constantly more painful. There must be a better way.
