Alert from the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians
**McCain/Dorgan Legislation Threatens Access to Supplements**
Contact Your Senator Today! Go here to send an email.

The fact of the matter: in the US we have good laws to insure safety, quality and consistency in our supplement supply, but the FDA has not funded or enforced those laws. Rather than passing new laws that limit consumer options, we need to enforce the laws we have on the books.

I keep noticing these frowns in the news. When the lips are turned in just a little bit, the person is only moderately bothered. When a person's lips are stretched wide and folded inward until you can't see the lips at all, they are extremely troubled and insecure. This tight grimace with no lip visible and the edges turned down is the ultimate sign of disgrace. These facial expressions are universal because they are controlled by the limbic system. Monkeys make the same faces for the same reasons.

Well I haven't been posting much lately....life has me running. But I have been paying attention to the news, little bit from here and there. I heard McCain claim his impending victory this morning. I saw the Saturday Night Live clip in which Palin inanely jived along with the skit mocking her. I heard that Cheney endorsed McCain, finally. That ought to be the kiss of death, but really this game is not about votes, but about machines and voter manipulation. The winner will be the one who has the best control of the machine of our elections. And frankly, from a Ron Paulian point of view, Obama is not much better than McCain, and on some counts he is worse. Neither candidate is ready to take on the level of change that this country needs. If Obama takes the prize, as by most measures he rightfully should, he is faced with an economy and a planet that are stretched beyond reasonable limits. The winner will be faced with a time period during which Americans still have not admitted publicly that we cannot continue to live at the standard that we think is uniquely ours. The winner faces attempting to make good during a time when everything that Americans have taken for granted is irreversibly unravelling. It is going to be painful. Good thing the feds have got a whole lot of spare enforcers on hand, just in case we should get rowdy after the results are announced, eh? Too bad Canada isn't any better.

It seems like this could be the fatal blow to his campaign, the desertion of Charles Fried, a professor at Harvard Law School professor, from McCain's staff. Fried said he voted for Obama/Biden, and said he had done so because of McCain's choice of VP: Palin. And Colin Powell is voting for Obama. It's pretty much over now, I think, but for the voting machines and whatever desperate last move McCain's admen think up.

"John McCain has led a Biblical life. Like his namesake Cain, he has no problem being negative to a brother. Like his namesake John the Baptist, he is actually just preparing the way for the messiah (Palin). And like Moses he's listening to a Bush that's going down in flames."

Who do Verizon and AT&T favor in the upcoming presidential election? They set up a special portable cell phone tower at McCain's ranch, on his wife's request....and it appears to be a donation...

It was on Tuesday night, but I just got around to watching it. From 6-8pm on Tuesday nights I am learning about how you position the body to see optimally through the joint spaces for an xray. But this debate, ahhhhhhhhhh, what a sad commentary on America it is....

I don't have a television, so I don't get to see "talking pictures" of the candidates very often. I go out of my way to watch some debates each political season, in order to get a good look at the candidates. I already know what positions to expect from them, but I want to see how they hold themselves, how they react, what kinds of emotions they display. And I like to hurl insults at the television screen to get out some of my frustrations. This time I didn't drink any wine, so the insults didn't flow as readily, but it was still worthwhile to watch.

I want to see a VP candidate debate!
Joe Biden vs Sarah Paulin
It hardly seems fair but maybe she has some Ace In The Hole.

First of all, I hadn't realized that McCain has such a history of ditching significant women for someone younger and prettier. How icky can he get? Second, I didn't know that he had chosen a running mate, or that she is a hottie from Alaska. Her name is Sarah Palin and she is governor.

There are some rumblings about "what is McCain thinking" when he chose this inexperienced backwoods cutie for his VP. Well, I think I know. His choice of a pretty woman is parts of these and more:
1) to feed his male pride and look better on TV
2) to add youth to the ticket since McCain's prevailing presentation seems to be of old age and forgetfulness
3) to hold onto maximum power and avoid having an influential VP
4) to try to gain support from the Clinton supporters for whom gender is a driving issue

To the Clinton supporters I suggest Cynthia McKinney. And to the rest of the republicans who might vote for McCain I say WHAT IF THE OLD FART SUDDENLY DIES and we end up with a beauty queen who's good on TV for president? Hmmm? The LAST thing we need is another neocon puppet. Even if she's a woman.

Since Ron Paul is out of the running, Obama and McCain are part of the machine, I have been searching for someone that I can vote for and not betray my own values. This is the woman. I am going to vote for Cynthia McKinney. I hear you thinking, did you think I was a Libertarian? Well no, I'm not. I am simply in agreement with much of what Ron Paul says. I am also in agreement with McKinney. This speech is a little rough, but the principles are there. She was a democrat, before. So was I.

Nice short (under 4 minutes) presentation here showing the protesters who turned out for the occasion of the interview of both Obama and McCain at Saddleback Church....where and in which O and M proved yet again that they are two sides of the same uni-party coin... and the protesters outside were ignored and downplayed by the media. But here, thanks to the internet, it a little bit of footage with a ragin' song so you can see and judge for yourself what kinds of people are on the streets these days with a message for those in power. There were the code pink people, the peaceniks, the supporters of freedom for Palestine.... all kinds of people with something to say.

MCCAIN’S “ECONOMIC BRAIN”
Wednesday, July 23, 2008
Posted by Jim Hightower

Hoo-boy, what a scream Phil Gramm is!

He’s the sour old former-Texas senator who, in 2002, leveraged his chairmanship of the banking committee into a sweetheart job as chief lobbyist for UBS, a giant investment bank on Wall Street. He’s also tight with John McCain, who made Phil his campaign co-chair and top economic advisor last year.

McCain, who has admitted that he doesn’t know much about economics, counts on his old senate buddy so much that Fortune magazine dubbed Gramm, “McCain’s econ brain.” The two say they confer every day, and McCain recently gushed: “I respect no one more in America on issue[s] of economics than I do Phil Gramm.”

Imagine the senator's surprise, then, when his econ brain recently began sputtering out elitist vitriol about the hoi polloi. Gramm said he has no patience with all these stories about people facing hard times, declaring that America has “sort of become a nation of whiners.” The economy is fine, pronounced the economic doctor, except that people have fallen into “a mental recession.”

This man has the same disease that all these politicians do. He is too eager to please. Obama was willing to reject his preacher because Wright's anti-American rants were too troublesome to explain. Nevermind that Reverend Wright follows in the footsteps of Martin Luther King. MLK knew the truth about American imperialism, and spoke of it publicly. But preachers are not politicians. There are precious few politicians who speak truth. In fact, politicians must remove themselves from the truth, because it is too dangerous.

McCain would say anything he thought would help him get elected. A blogger (Arianna Huffington) reported that he had said that he couldn't bring himself to vote for Bush in 2000. Other partygoers corroborated the claim. McCain was forced to deny the assertion. McCain said "I voted for, campaigned for, worked as hard as I could for President bush's election in 2000 and 2004." It's bad enough if it is true. But if he is lying, it is proof that he has sold his soul to the devil. The dog house isn't good enough for McCain.
Who do you think he voted for? )

ABC News: Ron Paul talks with Tom Abrahams (6/13/08). In this interview Dr Paul re-confirms that he won't be endorsing McCain until/unless McCain changes his positions on the war and the economy, expresses his continuing surprise and gratitude at the outpouring of support, and at the fact that the youth of today are ready to act to bring our government back into adherence to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
