He's a relatively new (2 years) massage therapist located in Oak Ridge TN 37830, but I must say he did right by me.  He's recently married and his wife Stefanie Cooke is also a LMT.  Bill does deep tissue massage without fancy tricks, no trigger points or talk of fixing your energy.  He joked in fact that he just puts all his energy into giving a good massage.  And he does.  He works mostly with the athletes at the University of TN (my alma mater).  My terminally knotted right shoulder has been un-knotted since he worked it into submission.  I did not expect that.  My shoulder has been bunched for over 30 years, and through countless massages and other therapies.  I did have a couple of days of recovery but it was worth it.  Thank you Bill for going for the gusto.  You can get an appointment with him or his wife at Oak Ridge Sports & Therapeutic Massage, 865-4six6-0six95.  Worth every dollar.

It's due to inactivity. Stay active as you age, and you can maintain your muscle mass. My mom is proof that you can kick ass in your 70's. She's STRONG. And strength, especially in the core, is what gives us good balance. Anyway, at this link is Mercola's take and videos of his mother's weight lifting routine.

Cocaine use is way up in Europe, from 3.5 million users last year to 4.5 this year.
The wall between Arizona and Mexico is under construction.

But also in the news: a recent JAMA study found that "overweight" people live longer on average than either "healthy weight" or very skinny people. The "anti-fat" doctors were apparently outraged. Then everyone suddenly realized that the BMI index is inadquate for evaluating people's level of obesity--because it does not, cannot take into account differing weights of muscle, bone and fat.

I know that the scale is off because my whole life I've been "overweight" according to the BMI scale, while I was a lot fitter than some of the people around me who were not "overweight". Even when I'm very lean, I'm at the heavy end of the scale.

I guess the first time I realized this was in college when we measured body fat on everyone in my health class. I was in with the guys with a % fat in the low teens. The girls in the class were coming out 25% fat or more. One particularly willowy thin girl was 28% fat. We had to talk about that. How could she be such a high percentage? She would be "healthy weight" according to the BMI index, or maybe underweight. But in fact she was quite sedentary and ate like a bird. She didn't have much appetite.

There's no moral to the story.

I'm beginning to understand what I must do in order to understand a Brons lecture or powerpoint. If I don't already know the material, the lectures and powerpoints are nigh unintelligible to me. It is necessary for me to seek other sources. When I do, Lo and Behold! It's simple. It just seems insanely complex in the lecture.
