Unfortunately, as Shrub proved, lack of intelligence and unclear speech do not disqualify one for the presidency. Quotes to demonstrate Santorum's lack of sophistication and insight:

Imagine being lost in the wilderness with a group of 10. Who is the most confident about which way you should go? Always an interesting test.)

(Didn't mean to but both knowledge and confidence tags just created. Not sure I will ever stop creating new tags, sorry. Follow a parallel tag to track the idea farther back. This journal is a form of mind map.)

Only two things are infinite,
the universe and human stupidity.
And I'm not sure about the former.

What skeptical thinking boils down to is the means to construct, and to understand, a reasoned argument and, especially important, to recognize a fallacious or fraudulent argument. The question is not whether we like the conclusion that emerges out of a train of reasoning, but whether the conclusion that emerges out of a train follows from the premise of starting point and whether that premise is true.

But if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree,
it will live its whole life believing it is stupid.

Buddha nature is not regarded as a peaceful state of mind or, for that matter, as a disturbed one either. It is a state of intelligence that questions our life and the meaning of life. It is the foundation of a search. A lot of things haven't been answered in our life - and we are still searching for the questions. That questioning is buddha nature. It is a state of potential. The more dissatisfaction, the more questions, and more doubts there are, the healthier it is, for we are no longer sucked into ego-oriented situations, but we are constantly woken up.

There are a couple of clips accessible from here in Mercola's archives that give some brilliant perspective on 1) the movers behind the US educational system, before the conservatives found out that the plan was to intentionally challenge students fixed beliefs and 2) how ignorant the youth today really are, as shown by Jay Leno. Both are worth viewing.
