Ron Paul on Bill Maher Show: on the Drug War and more
http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Ron_Paul_Dispose_of_drug_war_0221.html
Fox News has recorded a show called Freedom Watch, hosted by Judge Andrew Napolitano with Ron Paul's assistance. It sounds like they won't air it unless a lot of us are interested, so if you're interested, email them at yourcomments@foxnews.com and say so. There's also a group on facebook supporting Fox airing the show.
Here's more about it:

More on Israel
Jan. 12th, 2009 06:26 amSounds to me like some critical thinking about Israel is happening out there. Take this for example.
Transitioning from Shrubbery to Obamary
Dec. 3rd, 2008 07:37 amNice NYT article here. As the Obama "transition team" (containing a few Clintonites) is working their way through the Whitehouse, preparing for the incoming staff, they are sworn to secrecy. "But few can contain their amazement, chiefly at the sheer increase in the size of the defense and national-security apparatus." Seems like the innards of the Whitehouse has been revamped in the style of a star ship. The Situation Room has secure video connections to US military commanders around the world, putting the "decider" in chief squarely into the military mindset and timeframe. So much for diplomacy, eh? The Department of Homeland Security, the sprawling new department which seems intent upon watching US has mushroomed into something quite large. I am relieved to hear that the new head of that Dept will be Janet Napolitano of Arizona. I liked her as Attorney General of AZ. She was straightforward, realistic, and fearless. Progressives in AZ have hopes that she will go far. Janet pledged to obstruct Shrub's Real ID (national driver's license) program, and now she is in charge of it. If we do end up with a national license and ID, it will be more reasonable because of her.
Ron Paul on the Revolution
Oct. 19th, 2008 05:06 pmThis speech was delivered at the 50th anniversary gathering of The John Birch Society. This is probably the most excited I have heard Ron Paul, he is usually so measured. This audience is the core of the revolution, though, and Dr Paul is preaching to the choir.
It was on Tuesday night, but I just got around to watching it. From 6-8pm on Tuesday nights I am learning about how you position the body to see optimally through the joint spaces for an xray. But this debate, ahhhhhhhhhh, what a sad commentary on America it is....
( rambling rant on potential presidents in a so-called town hall forum )
I don't have a television, so I don't get to see "talking pictures" of the candidates very often. I go out of my way to watch some debates each political season, in order to get a good look at the candidates. I already know what positions to expect from them, but I want to see how they hold themselves, how they react, what kinds of emotions they display. And I like to hurl insults at the television screen to get out some of my frustrations. This time I didn't drink any wine, so the insults didn't flow as readily, but it was still worthwhile to watch.

The Revolution: A Manifesto
Jul. 3rd, 2008 09:10 pmI've started book #2 of the summer. It is a joy to read Ron Paul. He is so matter of fact about what has happened in our nation, how politics has become formulaic and false. His first chapter is about foreign policy, drawing a distinction between isolationism and noninterventionism. He is a good writer, a clear thinker. He quotes figures from an early American history book, and pulls together bits of history about our interactions in the world to paint a picture and allow you to draw your own conclusions. Part of the glory of America, for the first 130 years, was that we did not bother other nations. We were open and friendly, but we did not take anything that was not ours, and we did not position our military all over the world. We were glad to trade. Other nations respected America--our nation shone as a beacon of freedom and egalitarianism.
( noninterventionism )
In the House Foreign Affairs Subcomittee, Dr Paul got to ask a few questions of Dr Al Jabiri (spelling probably wrong) about the much-mentioned and seldom discussed US withdrawal from Iraq. First he asks if 6 months is a reasonable timeframe for a pullout, too fast or too slow, and gets a buck-passing answer (let the military experts answer that). But he keeps after the man and gets some information out of him about the situation in Iraq in terms of how the people feel about our "green zone" and military bases. Dr Al Jabiri doesn't seem accustomed to being questioned about what "the people" would say. The answers are as you would expect of a politician; he is loathe to paint himself into any corners. Dr Al Jabiri did say that somewhere around 70% of the Iraqi public supports the US reducing its presence both diplomatically and militarily. Dr Al Jabiri speaks through a translator. It's under 10 minutes long.
Ron Paul for Secretary of State
Mar. 27th, 2008 09:31 pmHere's a wonderful article in The Guardian on Ron Paul. Even if most Americans are asleep at the wheel of this so-called Democracy, the rest of the world has noticed this man, and how firmly he stands in opposition to the current insanity that is our government. And it's fun to hear a Brit picking a bit on Tony Blair. The UK has it's own embarassments.
Media Matters: The Weekly Update
Mar. 22nd, 2008 06:05 pmThe Weekly Update from Media Matters for America is behind the cut. This org watches what is reported and what is not, and thinks critically about it. In this case the media is clamoring for Hillary's tax returns but not even noticing that McCain hasn't released his. It sounds like some are falsely reporting that McCain's tax returns have already been released. I find it interesting that the supposedly "liberal media" continues to dig dirt on non-Republican candidates but quietly shelters McCain. This media would be more aptly named the "corporate media". Its power and profitability will be at stake when their guys are out of the whitehouse. Ron Paul would have cut them a new one. Obama and Clinton are pawns in their game. It's painful to admit to what degree the media controls public opinion. Thank goodness for rebel blogs, shows like Democracy Now and orgs such as Media Matters. Independent media is out there!

CNN tried to make up for it
Jan. 31st, 2008 09:25 pmYesterday, after their blatantly unfair "interview" (the McCain and Romney show) they got such a barrage of email that they decided to interview Ron Paul. It seems that they posted this interview online but that it did not appear on television. I guess they did it just to shut up all those online Ron Paul supporters. But they are set on trying to keep their television only audience ignorant of him. IMO. Here's the post-debate interview:
