Armistice Day

At 11:11 am on November 11, 1918, major hostilities of World War One formally ended. Tomorrow, in memory of that day, and in honor of the millions who served, we recognize Veterans Day. November 11 is celebrated around the world as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day. It was proclaimed a U.S. national holiday in 1938 with the words “a day to be dedicated to the cause of world peace.”

Maybe it's cus I'm getting older and more than my body is slowing down, but I seem to have developed an emotional empathy for our troops in the military. I think it has to do with a certain respect I gained from relationships with my scoutmaster (Korean vet), my uncles, both sides of the family, (Marines and Navy).
My desire is not to strike a political opinion but to support our troops in their current situations. I've been sending a little bit of money to the USO. They in turn take that and send secure care packages to random troops deployed around the globe. I don't believe, due to to security reasons, that you can send a care package directly to a soldier. So the USO takes care of that for me.

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
