Wow long week. Last weekend was the business workshop, so I've been going for 12 straight days. I'm holding up mostly. The business classes actually bring me up, because they help me to realize that I actually stand a chance to succeed in business, rookie though I am. I have lots of good ideas. And people out there really need what I have to offer. And I'm not a spring chicken like many of my classmates.

Remember that I had heavy metal contamination? Right now I'm taking DMSA, chelating the lead and other metals out of my body. I'm feeling OK. My last challenge test showed that my lead levels are still pretty high, arsenic and mercury less but still in there. DMSA is very specific for lead, so I'm told it won't start taking out the mercury etc until the lead is mostly out. That could take awhile.

I'm headed out in a few minutes to go to an art opening! I haven't been "out" by myself in this town yet, but someone I know has some paintings in the show, and he invited me. I guess it's time that I get bold enough to ride the bus alone after dark when it does not involve school. I do it often enough for school events, and soon it will be dark the vast majority of hours in each day. I can't let night stop me.

What else? Well it was really cool to wake today to the news that Obama got the Nobel Peace Prize. It is a seal of approval on his way of expecting all parties to take responsibility for their actions and allow the respect accorded humanity for all. So WHAT if all he has done is talk. He has said out loud the things that have long needed to be said. Thank goodness somebody finally did. I hope his approach gains lots of steam from the award.

Last thing. I just posted a new housemate wanted ad on Craigslist and I already have three replies. I think Friday night is a good time to post. I'm going to wait until tomorrow night and then see about sorting and replying.

How was the art show? Hope you had a good evening.

I am happy Obama got the prize. I have to admit, when I heard it I thought, "What? He hasn't done anything yet!" but then I did some research and learned that the prize is often given to those who are in the early stages of doing something big... to encourage them to not let the fire go out. I hope he does something bit. Even opening dialog is better than we've had in the past.

Fingers crossed for the housemate situation!!

I'm sure you know all this stuff so just let my words serve as reminder. You can use charcoal capsules to continue absorbing poisons from the body too or you could start doing up on Kelp. The thyroid will throw off toxins of ALL kinds if it has the adequate iodine to serve the body (ie:Kelp). NOw, if the iodine levels are too low.. then your body will cling to the toxins as your body thinks.. "well maybe they will help me along, something, anything."

Also.. hope the hausmate hunting goes well! =D

Thanks for the reminder! I'm all over iodine. I'm taking a concentrate instead of eating kelp. What is your source for the recommendation? I'm looking at science as I go. I'm going to do a coffee enema today and tomorrow---that'll keep the bowels going high speed. =-]

Good Good!

The first 2 places I read about the iodine connection was from the books "Let's Eat Right to Keep Fit" & "Let's Get Well", both by Adelle Davis. Also, both amazing books in my opinion!

Other than that, I collected more info about the Thyroid & the iodine connection from Massage Therapy School & from when I became a Certified Herbalist through Nature's Sunshine.

Best of Luck & Keep Going!!

I was off to Colorado last weekend and was sitting in my rental car listening to NPR in Centennial when I heard about the Nobel prize going to Obama. It has been interesting watching people react to the decision.
Some don't think he warrants it yet. I am a little in that court, but then again, he has made strong attempts to lead us out of the dark ages of the George Bush era.
Some don't think he deserves it at all, and some of that group I do believe are in the "hell no, no way..." group that Jimmy Carter has noted as being racist. I'll agree to that.
Some are absolutely ecstatic about it, as evidenced by the hand painted Obama visage I saw hanging above a garage in the little Colorado town of Crestone.
I think one of the reasons it happened is that Europe, and probably a good portion of the world, is so glad to have him in his position, and to be done with George Bush, that they wanted to support his efforts. I agree with that. I do believe he is smart enough to see that this is not exactly a confirmation of his efforts but an attempt by the Nobel committee to support and encourage what he has already intended.
There were a lot of negative comments this past weekend that I heard. Bummer. He's your president. Get behind him.
but to summarize...I'm very glad he was awarded the prize. I look forward to seeing what he can accomplish in the future.
J.
