The idea is that you don't eat anything that is dead.
Nothing cooked, though you can dry and warm things up to about 105 F.
All you eat is fresh fruits, vegetables and raw nuts and seeds.
Vanilla beans are IN.
Most raw food cooks use some spices (cinnamon etc) even though they're dead.
There are only a few "raw foodies" wherever I go but they are always devoted.
