And I thought I was just sinister:

Oh geez, yet another doctor who wants to dope everybody up. If he'd put these people on a decent diet, he'd probably be amazed at the results. The book "The Crazy Makers" sites studies that prove the ill effect of processed foods on children's brains... I'm sure it is the same for adults.

I know for a FACT that my behavior is much different, I am more prone to depression and I feel like absolute CRAP when my diet is off.

But how do you get average Americans to even consider something you would consider a "decent diet"? This is something I wonder about. Americans are lazy and want the one pill cure.

I wonder too. I don't think it's all due to laziness. I think processed food is addictive, and the food companies know it. They market things as healthy, 100% natural, low-fat, etc... and people eat those things thinking they are doing the right thing, and they get fatter and sicker. Until money-mongering is not a priority in this country, the public's health will continue to suffer.

And again, it's the promise of health that entices people to the drugs. They belive the ads (have you seen the prescription med ads on television?) and believe they NEED drugs to be healthy. I don't think diet even enters their mind as the cause of their ailments, and it certainly doesn't enter their mind as a cure.

But yes, everybody wants a quick fix, an easy out. It just doesn't work that way. :-|

I haven't seen the prescription meds ads on TV, but just last week I bought a newsweek. I had not purchased one of those in many years, and the biggest change was definitely the advertising. Used to be cars. Now it's drugs. A vaccine against 4 kinds of human papillovirus which Mercola has explained to me is utterly bogus. Erectile dysfunction drugs, just like my email junk folder. Wow. Drugs are big business. Junk food is big business. Education is buried under advertising. It's a tough world.
