Otters Having Lunch on the Washougal River

This is the same piece of music as he used for the previous post, so if you hate the music, don't play it. Dick filmed this otter family fishing and eating their catch on the rocks behind his house. It's stuff like this that confirms for me that I want to live on the crick. Somewhere. Some gurgle or cascade, or even better, small clean river. But back to otters. I might get a chance to study otters this coming summer, and I was already interested. RIVER otters, not ocean, they are different. Know anything about them?

Tell me more about the otter trip. How long do you reckon it will be? When? Will they need another person?

I want to get back onto a river, bad. I don't feel confident enough to lead my own trip, so will need to latch onto somebody else's. I'd be more than happy to offer labor in trade for coming along.

We're still waiting to find out if we have funding for three people to do these otter surveys. Renee applied for funding for 3 people, two scientists and one "tech" (that's me). Probably not easy trips for you to get on. But now that I know you're wishing to get on the river again, I'll be thinking of you whenever something comes up. I would love to do another Chama trip. Maybe you and I can fit something in between the science trips. Or maybe an unpaid slave would be welcome on these trips. I'll chew on it. =-]
