I agree with the consumer rights advocate - too many people don't understand the nature of credit, and it can ruin people's lives. I know people who believe that a credit card with an available balance is like having cash in hand. That attitude can be deadly.

Hmmmm. Thinking on this, it strikes me that credit IS cash in hand--just someone else's cash. And they're coming for it, eventually.
