OK, so right now, the media is buzzing with clips of Obama's speech on patriotism. I haven't taken in any more than the clips, but I get the gist of it. He is attempting to raise the standard of debate, to stop people from saying "you're not a patriot" anytime they disagree about what is right for the country. He has a long row to hoe, because our media and frankly our educational system have been dumbing us down politically for decades. But then I get an email with these lists. Behind the cut are the people that Obama is meeting with, in private meetings. What this means to me is that he will continue the system of corporate welfare at the expense of the taxpayer. How very patriotic of him.

I don't see how anybody could be in Obama's position and NOT meet with these people. They are all very powerful and he will need to know their agendas in order to be effective in his job. You know... keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer.

Yes......we shall see if he treats them as friend or enemy. I have no confidence that he has any intention of reducing corporate subsidies. And some of the people in that list I would like to meet with myself. When I speak of my worries it is only intuition and not because I have any way of knowing what he will do. I hope.....I still have hope that he is a true democrat, of the sort who actually cares for the people that he represents.
