This one from The End of Gender by Shari L. Thurer:

"...One third of male-to-female transgenders, including post-operative trassexuals, go on loving women--hardly the most parsimonious route to get a woman if we presume that most women prefer to have sex with people with penises. Obviously, these particular transgenders' wish was not to be conventional women, but to be lesbians."


So it occurs to me to wonder, which way do more people choose to transition? From male-to-female or female-to-male? I would expect more male-to-female, revealing my own internal bias. I would not give up being a woman. No deal.

Nothing to do with your post, but I just went to Rapture Index and noticed this:

So, I'm wondering, can these people not read and are only getting their news from audio sources or are they just really bad editors. Maybe God doesn't care about spelling things properly, even microbes that he so lovingly created to destroy the evildoers.

Actually, that made me smile a bit becuse I imagined a strained group of people (a staff) refusing to take drugs with sexually active gay men. "No! We resist the drugs!!"
