By Frank Herbert in the Dune books:
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain. "

Isn't that a lenticular cloud in your Userpic. See? Sciencey!
I just read "Hunters of Dune." I am ashamed to say if you slap 'Dune' on it I will read it. I was surprised that there are no Dune groups active on LJ.

Date: 2007-05-21 08:00 pm (UTC)I remember reading three Dune books as a middle school kid....and I remember taking Herbert's insults and using them on kids at school. They didn't know what hit them. I remember thinking the first book was the only one that I'd read again, but I haven't. How did you get so hooked on Dune?
Yes, it is a lenticular cloud. I think lenticles are the coolest!
