Home growers and family farms are exempt as they are not 'facilities". However, the bill is still craptastic. Our food system is ruined because NO ONE takes responsibility. It was determined that government is bad and that the private sector would police itself. Actually, they said they would self monitor, so we could 'cut the fat'. Well, 'the fat' was a whole lot of B.A. and M.A. level scientists. Now no one is minding the shop.
Now the REALLY big food corporations have taken over and it's probably done.
Full disclosure. I have a HACCP certification. I thought it would be useful, but no! I met some young ladies who did QC for a formula factory. Talk about responsability! Yikes!
