When Sarah Palin began her (half) tenure as Governor of Alaska, the budget was balanced. When she left, the state was in debt.
Spend and don't tax does not make a balanced budget. Most people are unwilling to give up government services that they find useful or *patriotic*. Many people (most Teapartiers) are spoiled brats who want something for nothing. I would love to see the debt ratio of your average Teapartier.
Modern society has costs associated with it. The point of collection is what is up for debate.
I'm an entrepreneur thwarted by government regulation. So I have had my own issues with government being a pain in the ass. I wanted to start out micro but nooooooooooooo. It also has a lot to do with big business...grrrrrrr.
