There is reason to believe that orgasm substantially increases a woman's odds of conceiving for a couple of reasons, one of which is a change in the mucus at the cervix that helps sperm survive, and the other is the muscular contractions that help deliver the sperm to to ovum by a pumping action.
It's really just funny to me how taboo sex is. And evolution, for that matter. We are supposed to be polite and not talk about it.
As for the bird question, ostriches orgasm. They're studying it so they can collect semen for breeding. Apparently enus will ejaculate into a fake cloaka (bird snatch) but ostriches won't. Picky.
