Naturopathic medicine is not being shouted about as are some aspects of the debate, however this is a hopeful time for my field. Many people see how our current system steers people into longterm drug regimens instead of preventing or curing disease when possible. Naturopathic medicine is most suited to the objectives of prevention and cure by way of simple lifestyle alterations--options that cost little and yield much. Any healthcare reform that hopes to truly increase the public health of the people of the land will include naturopathic principles.
