Oh my goodness, I had to google "Tennessee days of prayer" because I had never heard of it. Why the actual f--- are they wasting time on that kind of nonsense, to say nothing of the fact that they are definitely not keeping religion and government separate!
As for updates, I hates them. I have some ancient version of Chrome that my bank website keeps telling me they will not support in the future, but I hang onto it while I can. The last time I updated Thunderbird (my email importer) it made all of my emails tone-on-tone so I could not read them at all. My partner had to undo it for me, and he is good at that sort of thing but it took him a long time to figure it out! Updates suck.
