I read up on The Oregonian, which has been a great paper, on wikipedia - seems not entirely be shutting down.
(Note - my comp is currently being buggered - hopefully it doesn't get shut down...)
(I miss newspapers, but they paper/recycling was a lot to deal with. Unfortunately, w/ everything going to the internet, including currency, we in big danger of some central authority controlling everything, some solar EMP, or etc.)
Anyway, there is some kind of new programme where college is "free" - the state pays for it. Then, when the graduate is employed, they pay the state back via a percentage on their income - 3% or something. This is one of the most progressive ideas I've seen introduced in like forever.
