You see the "same old story" argument given by the previous commenter. People who are less likely to be impacted are less likely to see past their own denial to the changes that have already happened. And there is an active campaign to brainwash Americans against science and intellectuals, against any finding that we might chose to take collective action about, because those funds and energy are reserved for those who run our government. But not everyone sees or understands this, it is something we arrive at by synthesis thinking and intuition. We the N's on the Myers Biggs. We the liberals neurobiologically. The rest (75-85% is my guess) don't arrive at these abstruse conclusions and think that we are just plain nutty.
