Oprah Slammed for talking about Alternative Medicine

I can't believe that they are making her out to be a madwoman....but then, I can. Oprah's ideas are a threat to the pharmaceuticomedical industry. When you have a new idea, first you are mocked and disparaged. Oprah's out there on the front lines getting mocked and disparaged. We are making progress. Thanks for taking the hit Oprah. We've got your back.

God forbid people not want to put a bandaid over their health problems with an excessive amount of irrelevant medication. That's just crazy talk!

I don't know what alternative treatments Oprah has been discussing, but I'm glad that she has been. Even if the treatments she mentions turn out to be unhelpful, at least it will help people realize that there are other options besides bigpharma. I'm surprised by this cover, actually... Oprah is often mocked as appealing to smarmy, mainstream soccer moms. She'd be the type you'd think would be featured positively in a magazine such as this one. I guess that shows who has more power.

Yep, it's really a good sign that Newsweek is attacking her. It means that she is really scaring the powers that be, in this case the pharmaceutical corporations. Oprah was talking about bioidentical vs synthetic hormones.
