Two tidbits from this Weeks' Week

Guess what ethnic group is most likely (88%) to believe that homosexuality is not inborn, and also most likely to say that gay marriage should not be legalized?

blacks

Also, guess how many members of congress have admitted to not believing in God?
...
just one, his name is Pete Stark of California

I don't think it's inborn but I do think it should be legalized. I wonder if that's a minority opinion.

I'm in agreement with you, but I know better than to consider any opinion of mine "mainstream". I do think that homosexuality is hormonally mediated, and that people may find their attractions changing throughout life depending on their hormonal status. Consider the rash of lesbianism among post menopausal women...

Huh... I don't know why, but that's not the answer I was expecting. Interesting. Although, come to think of it, of any of the homosexual people I know, I can't think of any who are black...

Did you have a particular ethnic group in mind?

I don't know why, but whenever I think of people against legalizing gay marriage, I always think of the staunch religious right white guys. I don't know why - maybe because I'm white so I find fault with my own people. But yeah, I was thinking white people for some strange reason. No legitimate reasoning to my thought process. I blame the Mormons. :)

The Mormons have been greatly involved in the legal fight against legalization of gay marriage, so if we were choosing religious affiliations I bet you'd be right. Interestingly there are a lot of Europeans of every lineage converting to LDS.
