West Linn Days

Day 3 in the house on white cloud circle. I didn't get up in time to see Brian's workplace, and I ended up going for a walk in the state park across the highway and sitting by the river for a long long time. There are so many wonderful plant smells! Many are familiar----polygonum, mint, ginko, christmas fern, maple and hemlock and kudzu vines....it's just like Tennessee....so many species. Rich diversity. I love it.

The river is slow and placid by the park. I will go there often, I can tell already. There are no bugs here! I thought there would be mosquitoes but there aren't. I hope that tomorrow I wake up feeling strong and energetic. I have been tired for days after my long drive. Tomorrow morning I hope to ride my bike into town and visit the market under the Burnside bridge.

River sounds lovely. I'm not surprised you're so tired.. you really worked hard in your moving preparations as well. You are due for some well deserved rest.

Oooo - I loved the Saturday market under the bridge! Let me know if you find any great ceramics there.

I didn't see any ceramics but I didn't look very hard! I was more interested in the music and freakshows. Can't wait to show you my little bit of river!

Sounds really nice up there. When does school start? How far from school are you?

Thanks! The new life is starting out good.

I've spent some time in Ashland....I like it too. That Park is wonderful, right in town with the amazing variety of trees. If you get as far north at Portland, please do let me know. Would love to meet you and your SO.
