I could easily regard this rapid as a Moby Dick sort of grail quest, or I could be totally philosopical about it, know that it exists, and that is good enough. I think I will take the latter route. Don't need any further physical complications to clutter up my life. It's a beauty. It is what it is....let the Monkey sleep.
Your description was quite enjoyable to read. I am always intrigued when boaters describe a situation and include reference to their development as a paddler. Such as roll session time, initial paddle experiences, who they paddle with, and how they got where they are. That's the interesting stuff, the "path." An individual moment or rapid is just a blip in time, on a part of a continuum.
