Not being in Cali - was a "Yes" vote for gay marriage being allowed?

No, "Yes" was a new ban on gay marriage.

Ohhh - okay. Sorry. :) I hate when they make the ballots confusing - so if you DO want to legalize gay marriage, then you have to vote No. Huh - no wonder it got defeated! I think they do stuff like that on purpose.

Ebay's against gay Marriage? What the hell does someone's marital status have to do with buying and selling stuff?

No idea.....

Well, I think the reason for that is because same-sex marriage was already legal in California up until Election Day (the state's supreme court had ruled a few months ago that a ban on same-sex marriage was unconstitutional under the state's constitution). Essentially, then, the proposition voters were voting 'yes' on was to make that illegal--it was a way of responding to the court's ruling.

But you're right: it is all very confusing. Though I think opponents of same-sex marriage knew that it was advantageous for them to confuse voters on this issue because, before Election Day, a majority of voters actually opposed the bigoted measure.

And I agree on Ebay...wtf? Totally random. I guess it's a good thing I haven't used that site in almost five years. Who needs Ebay when one million other sites now can do pretty much the same thing?
