So if the German docs tried to get this done in 1996 and nothing happened, do you have any idea what is happening in Canada now?

It strikes me that it is the conventional medical doctors (MD's) trying to protect or expand their turf. They're also trying to take the word "doctor" as their very own. I hope there's enough public backlash to keep them within their historic bounds, or even knock them back a bit.
