For my practice I plan to blend as seamlessly as possible with every possible source that a person could consult to solve their health problems and build optimal health. I have friends who are MD's and helped me to choose this path. They were psyched because they too need of some more basic information on lifestyle options for healing and the science that supports those approaches. And they want someone they trust to refer patients to. I think that by being competent we will gain recognition.
Home visits can be really helpful. And getting to the root of the problem....that's the essence of what natural medicine does which has been forgotten by conventional medicine. That's the part that inspires me.
Thanks for that about the anatomy test. It was a little irritating to be docked points for putting "ileocecal junction" when the key said "ileum" and so on. Many transitions are debatable. I have decided that since our grades are pass/fail, as long as I'm passing and I know the material, I'm not going to worry about a few points here and there. We can have the debate about how much of the distal ileum counts as the junction some other time, when it matters more.
So what do you think we should call ourselves? Integrative Doctors?
