Zwickey on Medical Paradigms

Part of my method for keeping my boat afloat in this world is keeping a calendar, and I am currently going through September to make sure nothing fell through the cracks. Sometimes, when lacking other paper, I take notes in my calendar. On September 6 I took some notes during Orientation at NCNM on Zwickey's talk. Here's what I thought worth noting.

In case you care, the first few sites are what I am using. Aside from this and gmail/maps. I am consistently impressed with Wikipedia and would like to join the team that helps maintain it. Only a few times have I run across inaccuracies, and I would like to know where to report them. I can't help it, I have an editorial bone. I'm going to send a short piece on core fitness to the school paper. Today. Get into the school paper. I've always wanted to do something with the paper. I think I'm going to let the research option go. Even though I am impressed with Zwickey. Randomness. I'm going for a WALK.

Organ Systems I: Transmitters (Part 5)

I believe we're talking about NEUROtransmitters, here, but Brons is abstruse. Small molecule transmitters are fast acting in acute sensory and motor responses of nervous system. Both direct and indirect. Removed from synapse by diffusion, enzymes or reuptake. Drugs often work by affecting synthesis or removal of transmitters. The action of a neurotransmitter is determined by its receptors. One neurotransmitter may affect different types of receptors each with a different action.
