Welcome to Oregon! It sounds like you have found a nice space for your and for your kitty. I think you will be having quite a commute on your hands, but it sounds like your house mate Brian makes the commute to his job, so I suppose he can show you the ropes. The buses are great about taking bicycles on board, the only problem being they can only take two at a time. Have fun at the Saturday Market!
